In-flight WiFi has finally arrived in India. But it's not on every flight, and it's not always worth the price. Here's the current state of play.
WiFi Availability by Airline
Is It Worth It?
- ✅ Worth it: 2+ hour flights where you need to send emails/messages
- ❌ Not worth it: 1-hour hops — you'll barely connect before landing
- 💡 Free alternative: Download Netflix/Spotify content offline before flight
What Works on Flight WiFi
- ✅ WhatsApp messages, emails, browsing
- ⚠️ Social media — slow but works
- ❌ Video calls, streaming, large downloads — too slow
