- Tawang: 2-day road trip from Guwahati (via Bomdila/Dirang)
- Cherrapunji/Mawsynram: 4-hour drive via Shillong
Best Season
- October-April: Best time for most of NE India. Clear skies, comfortable temperatures.
- March-April: Cherry blossoms in Shillong! Spring festivals across the region.
- December: Hornbill Festival in Nagaland (one of India's best cultural festivals)
- Monsoon (May-Sep): Heavy rainfall. Cherrapunji/Mawsynram see extreme rain. Roads can be damaged.
